Service Description
Understanding Substance Use Disorder: A Family Disease is a free 8-week open support and psychoeducation workshop for individuals and families affected by substance use. Whether you love someone who is struggling, grew up in a home affected by addiction, are in recovery yourself, or are a caregiver who is exhausted and needs support — you belong here. Each session offers real information about SUD, tools for communication and boundaries, grounding practices for caregivers, and connection with others who truly understand. Open enrollment means you can drop in any week — no referral or diagnosis needed. Trauma-informed. Judgment-free. Completely free to attend. Participation Requirements for workshop&Groups To participate in The Connected Couples Group, both partners must: Be between the ages of 18 & 30 Complete a Couples Intake Form prior to the first session (available via QR code or the Support Programs tab on our website) This group is open to all relationship types and is affirming of all identities, backgrounds, and orientations. Group Participation Guidelines To create a safe, respectful, and healing environment for all participants, we ask that every couple agree to the following: Confidentiality: What is shared in the group stays in the group. Do not discuss other participants' personal information outside of sessions. Confidentiality is essential to the safety of this space. Respect: Treat all group members, facilitators, and staff with dignity and respect. Discriminatory, abusive, or demeaning language will not be tolerated. No Recording: Audio, video, or photo recording of any group session is strictly prohibited to protect all participants' privacy. Sobriety: Participants are expected to arrive sober and free from substances that impair participation. Active Participation: We encourage both partners to engage openly. You will never be forced to share, but a willingness to participate enhances the experience for everyone. Physical Safety: Any form of physical aggression between partners or toward others will result in immediate removal from the program. Confidentiality & Limits of Confidentiality All information shared in the group is confidential. However, as required by California law and ethical standards, confidentiality has the following limits. The facilitator is mandated to report: Credible threats of harm to self or others Suspected abuse or neglect of a child, elder, or dependent adult A court order requiring disclosure Participation in the group does not constitute individual therapy and does not create a therapist-client relationship between participants and the supervising LMFT beyond the scope of the group program. Insurance & Payment Policy We accept most major insurance plans, including: IEHP · Aetna · Blue Shield · Anthem · Tricare · TriWest · Optum Sliding scale fees are available for those without insurance coverage or with financial need. No one will be turned away due to inability to pay. Please discuss payment options confidentially with our team during intake.
